Published: 2026-10-17 Views: 19
Singapore’s tax system is simple, but companies still need to keep books, file taxes and complete annual compliance on time.
Bookkeeping & financial statements
Keep proper accounting records (generally for 5 years) and prepare annual financial statements.
Corporate income tax
- Headline rate 17%, with partial exemption and start-up exemption schemes for qualifying companies
- ECI generally within 3 months after financial year end (waiver may apply)
- Form C-S / C-S (Lite) / C by 30 November each year
GST
Registration is required when taxable turnover exceeds S$1 million (past or expected 12 months). The current GST rate is 9%.
Annual return
Hold the AGM (or pass written resolutions) and file the annual return with ACRA; some companies must file financial statements in XBRL.
